  • NJ Marathon Pacers will run at paces that start at 3 hours. Times are broken into increments that match the Boston Marathon qualifying times; (e.g. 3:30 pace, 3:35, 3:40, 3:45 pace, etc. Click here to see the Boston Qualifying Times.) Please understand that we will try to have at least one pacer for each of these times but cannot guarantee it. At the marathon start, look for the signs that show the pace times.  The signs will be held high and will be staggered according to pace (faster times closest to the start line) Your pacer(s) will meet you at the appropriate sign. Pacers will be wearing special bibs that display their pace time.

  • All pacers will pace for the full-marathon times.  Since the Long Branch Half and New Jersey Marathon start at the same time, runners in the Long Branch Half can join pace teams of those doing the full marathon.  E.g. A runner looking to finish the Long Branch in 2 hours would follow the 4 hour marathon pace team.

  • By the way, YOU too can be a Pacer for the 2007 New Jersey Marathon  If:
You want to help others reach a goal...
You can run a steady pace moderately slower than your normal pace...
You've run at least two marathons/half marathons (as applicable)...
Click here if you're interested in being a pacer! (Deadline to sign up is 4/15/08.) Tell us your 3 time choices and how many marathons/half marathons (as applicable) you've run. You'll feel terrific knowing that you've helped fellow runners reach their time goals!! We'll give you a comp entry to the race and to the Pasta Buffet as our thanks for your assistance in making the New Jersey Marathon Weekend a fantastic success!!!
