The Novo Nordisk Health & Fitness Expo

The New Jersey Marathon Organizing Committee, along with Novo Nordisk, is pleased to present the Novo Nordisk Health and Fitness Expo and Race Packet Pickup on Friday, May 3rd and Saturday, May 4th in 2013 at Monmouth Park.
The comprehensive two day Health & Fitness Expo will be free, and open to the public, as well as to all participants of The New Jersey Marathon, the Long Branch Half Marathon, and Half Marathon Relay. We are expecting 18,000 people to attend, including athletes and spectators.
2013 will see the introduction of a free speaker series to help you learn the latest: racing, nutrition, hydration, health, and injury prevention & recovery tips and techniques to help make your racing as safe and enjoyable as possible. In addition, we will have free exercise and yoga classes to rev you up and stretch and calm you down. There will likely be more things to be announced closer to race weekend, to make the Novo Nordisk Health & Fitness Expo an even bigger race weekend event. Check back here for more information as our planning firms up, and keep an eye on our Facebook page where announcements are shared first.
We will be accepting last-minute race applications during the expo (no registration on race day).
The prices are as follows:
- Full Marathon: $150.00
- Half Marathon: $125.00
Expo Hours: 1 pm to 7 pm on Friday (5/03), and 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday (5/04)
Race Packet Pick-Up

Race Packet Pick-Up will occur throughout the day on both Friday and Saturday at the Expo.
Packet Pickup will be available at any time during the Expo hours:
- Friday (5/03) from 1 pm to 7 pm
- Saturday (5/04) from 10 am to 6 pm

MORE Foundation Group
The MORE Foundation Group is a non-profit foundation bringing technology and training to the poorest farmers and villages in Ghana West Africa. The Foundation sponsors the Adopt-A-Family Program which is funded by the sale of used Athletic Shoes.
Many people ask, "what happens to all the shoes?" The shoes are sold in major metro areas to vendors who in turn create jobs and help improve the quality of life in cities. The vast majority of Africans cannot afford new shoes. The proceeds from the sale of the shoes provides training and tools to the poorest rural farmers.
In addition to funding several life-changing efforts, collecting used shoes and selling them to locals in Ghana provides additional environmental benefits. So many shoes sit in dark closets, forgotten and never worn, and then end up in landfills. Reusing these shoes further promotes the global efforts to reuse and recycle.
For the second year in a row, The New Jersey Marathon is proud to announce that the MORE Foundation Group (formally PPP Africa) will be at the Expo collecting used athletic shoes, so if you have shoes that you would like to donate, please remember to bring them!

Food Drive
The New Jersey Marathon, in partnership with Move For Hunger, will be conducting a food drive during the Expo. There will be collection bins, and staff, available to collect your generous donations, and distribute them to the local food banks.
Move For Hunger is a non-profit organization that works with moving companies across the country to support the efforts of local food banks. Your donation will likely directly impact families right in your home town. For more information about Move For Hunger, call 732-774-0521, or click their logo to visit them on the web.
Attention Potential Exhibitors / Vendors
The Expo will be publicized in fliers, mailings, ads and press releases. We expect over 18,000 to attend the two day Expo event, which is a regular part of The New Jersey Marathon.
