Family Running Events and Mini Fair
Saturday, May 5th, 2011
The New Jersey Marathon Festival, along with its sponsor and volunteering organizations, has created a special day full of fun family events for all ages and abilities.
In addition to several races, there will also be: clowns, face painting, music, carnival games, crafts, refreshments, awards, medals, and commemorative T-Shirts. It is a great festival for the entire family!
The fun starts at 8:30 am until noon, on the Great Lawn at the Ocean Promenade, in Long Branch. (Just a few yards north of Pier Village - between the Ocean Place Resort & Spa and Rooney's Crab House.)

Saturday Event Registration is available through various charities. If you plan on signing up for a Saturday event, please fill out an application from any one of the following charities.

3-Mile "Fun" Run / Walk
Meet us at the Great Lawn, on the Long Branch Ocean Promenade, for a 3-mile "Fun" Run / Walk
- Check-in begins at 7:45 am
- This event is not competitive - no clocks!
- For all "ages" ... strollers are welcome!
- A light breakfast will be served after the run and random prizes will be awarded!
- Participants raising $25, or more, in sponsorship will receive a free entry!
- Commemorative T-Shirts for all pre-registrants ... same day-registrants while supplies last!
"Kids" 1.2-Mile Marathon
"Kids" of all ages (8 to 99) will run a 1.2-mile marathon on the Long Branch Oceanfront Promenade
- Check-in begins at 8:30 am
- Race begins at 9:30 am
- Finish Line at the "Official" NJ Marathon and Long Branch Half Marathon finish line!
- Special Medals!
- T-Shirt and medals for all pre-registrants ... same day registrants while supplies last!
Races For Kids
Kids ages 2-12 will run races of various lengths, by age group. After the races refreshments, prizes, a carnival, the Fun Bus and Mr. Ray!
- Check-in begins at 8:30 am
- Races begin at 10:30 am
- 9 separate races for kids (ages 2-12)
- T-Shirts and medals for all participants while supplies last!
- Refreshments, Prizes, Carnival Games and Surprises -- A festive atmosphere with music!
